I hope it's not inconvenient for peeps to have all comments held for approval ~ I try to get to them right away, unless it's overnight or I'm busy at work. Unfortunately, blogspot doesn't have a tool to "OK" an IP or user after the first accepted comment. A point goes to WP for having this option. So far, I have not received any hate comments or spam since I started blogging again here, and I hope that continues, but I can't know for sure that it will. The problem with allowing all comments is that if someone posts something ick, and peeps respond to it, then I could have a huge fucking flamewar on my hands before I get a chance to deal with it. Then, instead of simply deleting one comment, I have to trash the whole pile of 'em, including the good ones, and that makes me feel bad. This isn't a farfetched scenario, as it happened before a couple iterations ago on my old Ultrablog. In fact, the comment mess was a big reason I deleted that blog and started over way back when with Cupcakes, Cats & Shooze. Anyone remember CC&S? LOL. Some of you may recall the Ultrablog comment war that began over pit bulls. Gonna admit right now that my feelings have not changed, and sure let's blame the humans, but the fact is that these dogs are often bred to kill, and they do. Since we can't euthanize all the bad breeder people, sadly, we have to deal with the dogs. Feel free to hate-comment ~ I will happily round-file it! Nyah.
It doesn't bother me one bit; but not being able to figure out my google setting for commenting does! (That's not on you, though!) - N
ReplyDeleteNat, it took me years to realize that all I had to do was allow third party cookies in my iPhone settings so that I could stay signed in to comment on my own damn blog!
ReplyDeleteActually it’s “allow cross website tracking” in Chrome app settings on my phone.
ReplyDeleteYour blog, your rules!
ReplyDeleteThanks Daniel!
ReplyDeleteBut… but… pitties look like they're smiling! Anyway…
ReplyDeleteThat’s true, Keera, and I met the sweetest little pittie puppy at the doggo park once. But still…
