I’ve had no appetite, and the only things I want are in the title of the post. These are foods I never crave or even think about, unless I’m sick. I already had a box of saltines from my February sickness, so I paid for a Target delivery of the rest, along with a bunch of juice and tea. Why is jello so delightful when I’m ill, but so blech any other time? Same with applesauce, except on latkes. As far as the saltines, they’re the most boring cracker on the planet, but perfect when I don’t feel well.
Today, Saturday, I’m finally feeling somewhat better, though not exactly good. My temp is under 100, and my congestion has abated a bit. Last night, I did get a bunch of much-needed sleep. I hope to have enough energy to cook some pasta and veggies soon. I made plans with friends for Thanksgiving, so I’m taking it very easy and crossing my fingers.
I have now watched five seasons of The Connors and that’s enough. The actors who play Becky and Darlene are boring, and they get too much screen time. Laurie Metcalf as Aunt Jackie is the star of the show, imo, and hilarious. Overall, however, I can’t take any more of the same old whining and bad decisions. I read the teasers for S6, and it seems to be more of the same. Turns out that Inside Man has a new season, so that will be my next watch.
It took me all day to finish this post because I am so tired. I am happy to have all this extra cuddle time with Inky, who has been the absolute sweetest, though I will be happier when I am fully recovered.
PS: I don’t know what this crud is. I tested negative for Covid, but it could have been a false negative. My fever was too high for a cold. I didn’t feel achy enough for the flu. No clue!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon Paula!
ReplyDeleteThey say something like that is going around here, too. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you got the seasonal bug, the usual stuff that goes around this time of year. Glad you are on the mend!
ReplyDeleteI get flu shots now because if I get the seasonal bug (not the flu, just a cold), it tends to devolve into bronchitis. The flu shot prevents that.
Thanks everyone! I have had all the current vaccines except RSV, which doesn’t seem to fit my symptoms, but who knows?!
