Flowers wilt and fade away
Give me words of love instead
Tell me something sweet today
Flowers wilt and fade away
I don’t want a sad bouquet
Leave the roses in their bed
Flowers wilt and fade away
Give me words of love instead

Triolet quadrille (structured 44 words) written for today’s dVerse prompt of flowers. I love flowers, but if I had to choose, I would prefer someone’s heartfelt words. Not that it matters now, of course, since I am finished with all that.
Beautiful. ♥️
ReplyDeleteFebruary is a busy month for bouquets of flowers here in Norway. 2nd Sunday is always Mother's Day and then there's the imported Valentine's Day. I do like your sentiment, that words of love are better than flowers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bluebird and Keera!
ReplyDeleteApropos of nothing, I want to thank you for recommending Poetry for Neanderthals. What a great game! We played it when all our kids were here last month for our grandson's birthday, and we ended up in stitches from laughing so hard! It's our new favorite game. 😀
ReplyDeleteBluebird, yay! That’s great!
