Peacock

Hungry for her love’s attention,
He spreads his magnificence wide.
She turns away to his chagrin.
Hungry for her love’s attention,
His patience wears so very thin—
This is offensive to his pride!

Triolet quadrille (structured 44 words) written for today’s dVerse prompt of hunger. I decided that thin and chagrin rhyme with attention, if I tilt my head just so. Or would shun and begun work better…
